CUPE NL Table Officers met to discuss upcoming events and plans for the coming months. The group also extended a warm welcome to newly elected Recording Secretary Dianne Martin. We look forward to her contributions in her new role.

This week, Sherry and Stacey attended CUPE Ontario’s 62nd Convention, where history was made. Delegates elected the first Black woman as President, Yolanda McClean, and the first Indigenous woman as Ontario Secretary-Treasurer, Dawn Bellerose.

They also joined more than 10,000 people at a powerful rally supporting public healthcare, standing together in solidarity and showing the strength of our union movement.

It was an inspiring week celebrating leadership, equity, and unity.

Congratulations to both Yolanda and Dawn on these historic victories!

Congratulations to CUPE Nova Scotia on a successful convention! It was wonderful to spend time with members, reconnect with friends and colleagues, and join the rally in support of striking LTC workers. Solidarity matters, and it was inspiring to stand together in support of fair treatment and respect for workers.
