Markham had their Indy car race but that doesn't compare to Brantford's Soap Box Derby hosted by the Brantford and District Labour Council.

For 70 years the Labour Council has sponsored this event that allows future engineers and race car drivers to design, build and race their soap box cars down Elgin St in Brantford.

Come out and watch the kids compete against each other to decide the best soap box driver in our area.

Even better, maybe you can volunteer to help out with the set up and teardown of the site. If you can volunteer, please contact the Brantford and District Labour Council at [email protected]. Any help sure would be appreciated.

"I can remember being a kid and helping my Dad set up the Soap Box Derby back when he was involved with the Labour Council. The kids in our community really like this event and the fact that this is the 70th anniversary is proof of that. Let's get out and support the volunteers from the Labour Council" said Brad Ward, President of the Brantford-Brant-Six Nations NDP Riding Associations.

✅First Nation, Métis, and Inuit Studies
✅Guidance and Career Education
✅Special Education

These courses have been created by secondary teachers for secondary teachers and focus on the realities of teaching grades 9-12. The courses are rooted in accessibility and inclusivity practices and session dates have been aligned with the secondary academic calendar.
