From our Paws and Volunteers ... Happy Canada Day!

We hope everyone enjoys the day with family and friends! Our office will be closed today to allow our Volunteers the chance to spend the day with family.

Please remember, Fireworks, loud music, crowds, may upset your pet. Fireworks are lots of fun BUT please leave your pets at home!
If your pet(s) is scared of loud noises, make sure thay are happy, securef and calm in your home!

Let's make this Canada Day Happy for you and your pet!

With Canada Day Celebrations coming up, please make arrangments to keep your pets safe!

Make sure your pet(s) are kept in a calm environment, happy and secure, as parties, fireworks, loud music often scare them enough to jump out windows, break doors, or run as soon as a door opens.

Although it's fun for us ..... it's not always fun for our pets!

Yesterday, SimcoeDHumane Volunteers received a call from the recycling plant. This bunny was found in a recycling bin when they were unloading at the plant.
There was no information attached to the bin or bunny.
This California Buck is very sweet, probably older bunny who is just looking for attention. His ears are full of ear mites, infection, and he is very sore. His rear feet are calloused from living in a cage and always on steel grates. When found, he was dehydrated and hungry. He is gobbling food, although we are feeding slowly.
We will get this bunny vet checked, and readied for adoption.

Please people, ask for help!

We are trying our best to help, even when we are full. We may ask to hang on for a couple of weeks while we clear out cages, we may be able to give other numbers or have ideas that may help you.
Animals don't deserve to be left in garbage or recycling bins!!!
They don't deserve to be left at the side of the road, in farmer's fields or barns or dropped off because that person LOVES pets.

We are all maxed out! Rescues are full! Shelters are full! Fosters are full! Having more fosters would certainly help but the coffers are empty or quickly becoming that way.

It's getting hot out there AND animals can not take the heat especially in metal containers. They do not deserve to be treated like garbage nor do they deserve to be treated like they do not matter!

We are looking for special families who understand the importance of cage rest and medical treatment for these beautiful, friendly and loving female dogs. Both reared beautiful healthy babies until they were found heartworm positive with microfilaria (baby heartworms).
They have already started their treatments and will have a few months more.
These two girls are absolutely lovely, special in every way.
If you are interested in fostering2adopt or just fostering one of these girls until their meds are done, please email [email protected] OR visit their adoption profiles.

Rhonda needs a placement this week as the finders can no longer take care of her due to work obligations.

The cost of their treatment is above the normal adoption ready costs. Please donate to their care
