✨ CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS! ✨

SCAC is pleased to be bringing back our Members Show this July 2-29 at 's Museums by the Sea!

Current members of the Shelburne County Arts Council are invited to submit work for inclusion in the show.

Guidelines:
👉 Must be a current member of SCAC (not a member and want to be part of the show? Join today - membership is only $10!).
👉 You can submit up to 3 works. Note: space is limited, and not all submissions may be accepted. The ideal size is no larger than 3'x3'.
👉 2D and 3D works, as well as audio and video work is accepted. Work must be display ready!
👉 Artwork must have been created within the last two years (2024-present).
👉 Artworks can be priced to be sold by Shelburne Museum staff and volunteers. Shelburne Museum will take a 30% commission on all sold artworks. Artists will receive 70%.

Deadline for submissions is June 21!

SCAC is once again hosting a series of open studio sessions for artists to meet one another and share their ideas and their work.

WRITING WORKSHOPS

As part of our ongoing efforts to de-centralize our programming, the Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia is trialling in-person creative writing workshops in Yarmouth this fall. If one of the following workshops or both can meet minimum capacity, we'll be able to offer workshops in Digby, Yarmouth, and Shelburne counties on an annual basis.

The next Open Studio session will be November 4 at 5:30!

Are you a visual artist living in Shelburne County? Working on a new project? Have an idea for a new project? Have a body of work you’d like to share? Want to see the work of your peers? SCAC is hosting a series of open studio sessions where artists can gather and share their ideas and their work.

Artists at all stages of their practice are invited to join informal critiques and discussions about art, process, concepts. Drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, performance art, video, film, fiber arts, graphic design, conceptual practices, research creation.

Sessions will be facilitated by Tanya Mars, a practicing artist who taught Studio Art for over 30 years at various institutions: NSCADU, OCADU and the University of Toronto.

The sessions are free and there is no registration, just bring examples of your work and/or your ideas and enthusiasm to:
Studio 135, 135 Water Street, Shelburne on Tuesday, August 5 at 5:30pm-8:30pm

There will be light refreshments.
