🏃‍♀️💙 Community, teamwork, and giving back were at the heart of today’s Run the Great Lakes event in downtown Sault Ste. Marie.

Staff from the Children’s Aid Society of Algoma were proud to volunteer at one of the event’s water stations, helping keep participants hydrated and motivated as they made their way through the course.

Run the Great Lakes is more than just a race—it’s an opportunity to support two incredibly important organizations in our community: ARCH Hospice and the Sault Area Hospital Foundation. Through the efforts of participants, volunteers, sponsors, and organizers, the event helps raise funds that support compassionate end-of-life care and vital healthcare services for residents across our region.

It was inspiring to see so many people come together in support of these important causes while promoting health, wellness, and community connection. We are grateful for the opportunity to play a small role in such a meaningful event and to stand alongside so many individuals dedicated to making a difference in Algoma.

Congratulations to all participants, and thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s event a success!

☀️ What a beautiful morning to come together as a community!

Today, members of the Children’s Aid Society of Algoma were proud to participate in the Community Living Algoma Awareness Walk. Under clear blue skies and bright sunshine, community partners, supporters, and Community Living Algoma members joined together to raise awareness, celebrate inclusion, and recognize the important role that individuals of all abilities play in our community.

The walk was filled with smiles, conversations, and a shared commitment to creating a more inclusive and welcoming Algoma for everyone.

Thank you to Community Living Algoma for organizing this wonderful event and for the important work you do every day to support and empower individuals throughout our community.

Together, we are stronger when everyone belongs. 💙

When community steps up, it makes a real difference. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to United Steelworkers Local 2724 for their generous donation of windbreakers for some of the children and youth in our care.

In Northern Ontario, a good windbreaker goes a long way — and so does kindness. This thoughtful gesture will help young people in our community stay warm, comfortable and supported as they head into all kinds of weather.

We’re incredibly grateful for organizations like Local 2724 that continue to give back and help wrap our community in support in more ways than one.

Today, the Children’s Aid Society of Algoma was incredibly grateful to receive a generous donation from the Missanabie Cree Business Corporation and the ISN Maskwa Group.

Together, they delivered over a truckload and van load of diapers, formula, and hygiene products to support children and families in our community. These items were generously redirected following recent evacuation support efforts, and their impact will continue to be felt by local families who need them most.

Acts of kindness and community support like this make a real difference. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in organizing, transporting, and donating these essential supplies.

Please know that these items will find good homes and will help support children, youth, and families throughout our community.

Thank you again for your generosity, compassion, and commitment to helping others. 💙
