We are stoked to announce that Michaela Slinger will be joining The East Pointers sold out show at Song Sparrow Hall on Saturday, October 17. 🎶

As one of North America’s most exciting rising singer-songwriters, Michaela’s latest independent record Green and Trying marks a shift toward herself-described “Laurel Canyon era” where Michaela’s poignant lyricism cuts straight to the heart, like the part of the dinner party where the food’s gone, the w**e’s low, wax is dripping from candles onto the table, and everyone’s wrapped up in intimate conversations—some laughter, some tears, but space for connection with everyone.

September is a busy one folks, end-of-summer beach visits, back-to-school schedules, harvest season and now we hold space and time for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30th.
One of the steps that the Salmon Arm Folk Music Society and the ROOTSandBLUES Festival has taken to prioritize Indigenous voices is to start the festival with an opening and welcome ceremony. We are honoured to invite our local Secwépemc leaders and elders to our mainstage to welcome festival patrons to their territory. This starts the festival off in a good way and sets the tone of inclusion for the weekend.
We are proud and grateful to host the Salmon Arm ROOTSandBLUES festival in Secwépemculecw, the unceded traditional territory of the Secwépemc.
