To help address housing affordability, the Government of Canada awarded the City of St. Albert up to $11.8 million through the Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF)
Rather than focusing on large developments, St. Albert is using the funding to explore a "made in St. Albert" approach by encouraging more missing middle housing, including duplexes, triplexes, townhomes, and secondary suites to create more housing options within existing neighbourhoods.
