WHAT IS A SOUL? Ի՞ՆՉ Է ՀՈԳԻՆ

Hayr Sourp: “What makes a car go forward and move?”

Students: “The tires.”

Hayr Sourp: “What else?”

Students: “The engine?!”

Hayr Sourp: “What else? You are only mentioning the car's structure and body. What if we had everything you mentioned, but no oil? What would a beautiful, advanced, and luxurious car be worth if there were no oil in it? It would be worthless.

“The same goes for our bodies. What gives our body the ability and motivation to move?”

Student: “The heart and the brain.”

Hayr Sourp: “Good answer, but that is still not enough. We are still talking about organs, the body, and its physical structure. With all the organs we have—with our appearance, our height, our strength, and everything else that makes up our physical being—what is it worth if we do not have a soul that gives us movement, purpose, strength, and endurance to experience the beautiful, God-given gift called life?”

"Then the Lord God formed man out of the dust of the earth, and he breathed his breath of life into his nostrils, and man became a living creature." (Genesis 2:7)

Հայր Սուրբ.- «Ի՞նչն է, որ ինքնաշարժը յառաջ կը մղէ եւ կը շարժեցնէ»։

Աշակերտներ.- «Անիւները»։

Հայր Սուրբ.-«Ուրի՞շ»։

Աշակերտներ.- « Մեքենայի շարժի՞չը»։

Հայր Սուրբ.- «Ուրիշ ի՞նչ։ Մենք միայն ինքնաշարժին կազմուածքն ու մարմինը յիշեցինք։ Եթէ մեր նշած բոլոր բաները ունենանք, բայց իւղ չունենանք, ի՞նչ արժէք պիտի ունենայ գեղեցիկ, զարգացած եւ շքեղ ինքնաշարժ մը, եթէ անոր մէջ իւղ չկայ։ Անիկա պիտի չշարժի։

«Նոյնը կը վերաբերի նաեւ մեր մարմիններուն։ Ի՞նչն է, որ մեր մարմնին շարժելու կարողութիւնն ու շարժառիթ կու տայ»։

Աշակերտ.-«Սիրտը եւ ուղեղը»։

Հայր Սուրբ.- «Լաւ պատասխան է, բայց տակաւին բաւարար չէ։ Մենք տակաւին օրկաններու, մարմնի եւ անոր ֆիզիքական կազմուածքին մասին կը խօսինք։ Մեր ունեցած բոլոր օրկաններով, մեր արտաքին տեսքով, հասակով, ուժով եւ այն ամէն բանով, որ կը կազմէ մեր ֆիզիքական էութիւնը՝ ի՞նչ արժէք ունինք, եթէ չունինք հոգի մը, որ մեզի շարժում, նպատակ, ուժ եւ տոկունութիւն կու տայ՝ ապրելու եւ վայելելու կեանքը որ Աստուած պապան մեզի տուած է»։

«Եւ Տէր Աստուած հողէն շինեց մարդը, անոր ռունգերուն մէջ փչեց կեանքի շունչը, եւ մարդը եղաւ կենդանի էակ»։ (Ծննդոց 2։7)

Ուրբաթ 16 Հոկտեմբեր տեղի ունեցաւ Սուրբ Գիրքի առցանց սերտողութիւնը։ Սերտողութեան նիւթը ներկայացուց Տիար Ճորճ Ճէպէճեանը, անդրադառնալով քրիստոնեայ մարդուն պաշտամունքային եւ գործնական կեանքի զուգընթաց կապը պահելու մասին։

On Friday, October 16, the online Bible study session took place. The topic was presented by Mr. George Jebejian, who spoke about the importance of maintaining a connection between the worship life and the practical, everyday life of a Christian.

On Sunday, October 11, the Parish Priest of our church Right Reverend fr. Vartan Tashjian shared with the students of the H.O.M.’s Araz School the significance and importance of the Feast of the Holy Translators and the invention of the Mesrobian alphabet.

During the Divine Liturgy, a blessing was offered for the students and teachers of our school. The sermon emphasized the importance of preserving the Armenian language and protecting our values from the dangers of cultural erosion and cultural genocide (epistemicide).

The Right Reverend Father Karekin Shkhrdmian, Pastor of St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church of Toronto, was also present and joined us for the Holy Divine Liturgy and the blessing of the students.

Կիրակի, 11 Հոկտեմբեր 2026-ին, եկեղեցւոյ Հոգեւոր Տեսուչ Գերապատիւ Տէր Վարդան Ծրգ. Վարդապետ Թաշճեան ՀՕՄ-ի «Արազ» վարժարանի աշակերտներուն ներկայացուց Թարգմանչաց Տօնին եւ Մեսրոպեան Գիրերու Գիւտին խորհուրդն ու կարեւորութիւնը։

Ապա, Սուրբ եւ Անմահ Պատարագի ընթացքին, տեղի ունեցաւ մեր վարժարանի աշակերտներուն եւ ուսուցիչներուն օրհնութիւնը։ Քարոզին ընդմէջէն շեշտուեցաւ հայերէն լեզուի պահպանման եւ փոխանցման կարեւորութիւնը, ինչպէս նաեւ մեր ազգային ու հոգեւոր արժէքներու մաշումին եւ մշակութասպանութեան (Epistemicide) վտանգներուն դիմադրելու անհրաժեշտութիւնը։

Պատարագին եւ աշակերտներու օրհնութեան ներկայ եւ մասնակից եղաւ նաեւ Գերապատիւ Տէր Գարեգին Ծրգ. Վարդապետ Շխրտմեանը, Թորոնթոյի Ս. Աստուածածին Հայց. Առաքելական Եկեղեցւոյ Հոգեւոր Տեսուչը։
