Havdalah B'Yachad - What a great way to start the week!
Thank you to Morah Batsheva and Rabbi Susie Tendler Sadoff for leading us in a meaningful Havdalah ceremony this morning. The lobby was filled with singing and the scent of fresh rosemary from our garden. Shavua Tov 🥰

From tending to our sunflowers to discovering slugs, worms, and even a little frog, our Gan Bet children are finding so many ways to connect with nature! 🌻🐌🐸

They demonstrated empathy and care as they gently fed their new slug friend with leaves and sheltered it with wood chips. Through hands-on exploration, they’re building curiosity, noticing the changes around them, and learning to respect the living creatures who share their playground. 🌿

Students explored the Torah portion about the Tower of Babel.

They discovered that we can reach great heights when we work together, listen to one another, and strive to understand those around us. With strong values, humility, and genuine human connection, we can achieve so much more together!

“And they said: Come, let us build us a city, and a tower, with its top in heaven, and let us make us a name”. Genesis 11:4.

“Play gives children the space to master life skills.” — Dr. Deborah MacNamara
Play is so much more than fun! Through exploration and creativity, students build problem-solving skills, coordination, confidence, imagination, and meaningful connections with others.
When children have space to play, explore, and create together, they’re learning, growing, and thriving—one playful moment at a time!

Celebrating the rituals of Hoshana Rabba with Rabbi Susie Tendler Sadoff from Beth Tikvah Congregation Richmond, BC

On Hoshana Rabbah, the seventh day of Sukkot, there is a special custom called Chavat Aravot (the bundle of willows). We beat the willow branches on the ground to represent our prayers for rain, blessings, and a good year. The custom also reminds us that we should be humble and connected to G-d and to our community.
