Everyone is welcome on the water.
Flatland Fly Fishers supports our LGBTQS+ members, friends, and neighbours — because time outside belongs to everyone. We’ll be at Out in the Park vendor on June 13.
If you’re wandering through, stop by. Say hello, talk fishing, or take a moment at the bench. Our members come from all walks of life, and there’s always space for one more along the bank.

Our members had a busy weekend, a few wandered Wascana Creek on Sunday from Wascana Trails all the way down seven bridges road.
Sunday a group made it out to Pasqua Lake for a group day with a BBQ.
Lot's of relaxing scenery in this part of Saskatchewan, and with a fly rod you can fish most of it.

Tonight is our last scheduled fly tying night of the season, 7:00- 9:00 pm at the Break Pool hall on 2220 Dewdney Ave Second Floor. It is rabbit skin leach night.
After this it's all about getting together for fishing time, casual tying, net making, and everything else until the fall.

Well go through the reel arbor (arbor knot) all the way out to the fly as you get walked through each step of tying it all together.

A few shots of our members out and about this weekend. Wonderful weather for a stroll trout were active but the pike, walleye, and carp haven't quite moved into shallow waters yet. With the warming weather this week next weekend may be on the hook.

The second casting clinic of the year went ahead despite the chilly temperatures, thanks to having booked the gym in case of inclement weather. The basics were covered and delivered by Ken Rybchuck; one of the veteran club members. Greg owner of Pokeys Tackle Shop was also in attendance and showcased some economical entry level starter outfits that his shop has in stock. Greg is a longtime fly fisher and was integral in the creation of the club in the mid 80’s. Check his shop out and ask for him if you have any questions. Hopefully with the weather permitting, we will have another casting clinic outdoors so members can begin their adventures soon.

Great chance to come out and try some rods. Greg from is going to bringing by what they have in stock also.
