We are SO excited for First Fall Harvest Festival on October 24th!

The Fall Harvest Festival is a new fundraising event created as an opportunity for the community and local producers to connect, celebrate the harvest season and enjoy a day together.

Come celebrate the season with fresh local goods, local artisans, family-friendly activities, live music, prizes and plenty of fall fun, all while supporting the work of Stewardship Pemberton Society.

There are three exciting contests to enter for growers, bakers and preservers to get involved in too! If you think you have a winner in your garden or kitchen, be sure to enter into the:

- Pie Contest
- Pickle Contest
- Weirdes/Ugliest Vegetable Contest

One Mile Lake Park: 8 ways to enjoy it

With good weather kicking off October, we're spending as much time outdoors while we can. Right in town, One Mile Lake is one of our favourite places to soak up our surroundings with lots of activities for everyone - kids, dogs, bird-watchers, mountain bikers, frolfers, swimmers and picnic-ers.

Note: The One Mile Lake Boardwalk is currently being rebuilt with a new floating boardwalk so the One Mile Lake Loop is an out-and-back route right now. You can enjoy a newly opened section of the over-water walk from the Park while the remainder of the Loop is being completed towards the Dog Park.

MRDT Public Information Session Postponed

Our Municipal Regional District Tax public Information Session scheduled for October 5 has been postponed.

With the provincial election campaign underway, Destination BC representatives are unable to participate in public presentations during the campaign period. Their expertise is an important part of the conversation, so we’ve decided to reschedule the session for later this year.

In the meantime, we encourage you to visit our MRDT information page to learn more, review our Community Assessment and submit your questions or feedback.

Tomorrow, September 30, is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to honour the Indigenous children who never returned home from residential schools, as well as Survivors, their families and communities.

There are opportunities in both Pemberton and Whistler to come together, listen, learn and reflect.

Tonight in Pemberton, Líl̓wat Nation, Pemberton & District Public Library, the Village of Pemberton and the SLRD are hosting an evening of storytelling and conversation with Julian Brave Noisecat, an Indigenous writer of the Líl̓wat Nation.

The evening will include a reading from 'We Survived the Night', followed by a moderated discussion and book signing.

📍 Pemberton & District Community Centre, Great Hall
🕡 6:30–8:30 p.m.
🎟️ Free admission, no registration required. The first 45 people to arrive will receive a complimentary copy of We Survived the Night, courtesy of the Pemberton & District Public Library.

Tomorrow at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, a full day of programming will offer opportunities for reflection, learning and connection through Indigenous-led storytelling and cultural sharing.

The day will include a guest speaker series featuring Julian Brave Noisecat and Carolyn Roberts, films presented with the Whistler Film Festival, cultural sharing and Indigenous craft-making, the Spo7ez Artist Market, First Nations-inspired cuisine, and opportunities to explore the SLCC’s exhibitions.

These events offer an opportunity to listen to Indigenous voices, learn more about the histories and experiences of the people of the land we live on, and reflect on what Truth and Reconciliation means today and throughout the year.

There’s nothing wrong with cozying up by a fire, enjoying the fall foliage, and slowing down these next few weeks - we wholeheartedly condone this - BUT, if you want to keep adventuring, there’s no shortage of things to do in Pemberton this Fall.
