Meet Aurora ✨
Your loyal shadow, adventure buddy, and forever friend. **Herding dog experience or good knowledge of a herding breed is important if considering this girl**
Aurora is an approximately 2 year old, healthy female Australian Cattle Dog mix, weighing 35 lbs and spayed. She’s the kind of dog who sneaks into your heart quietly… and then never leaves.
💖 Personality
Aurora has a beautiful balance of playful + goofy + clever. She is cautious, but once she trusts you, that’s it, you’re her person. True to her herding roots, she loves to keep her family close and will happily follow you from room to room. She is a true velcro dog, but she is not a lap dog and prefers to lay beside you.
She is most comfortable with women. She is unsure or fearful of men, so slow introductions will be important to gain her trust.
👨👩👧 Home Environment
Her herding instincts will be too much for young children. She will herd them and possibly nip at little ankles.
A very loud or busy home may be overwhelming for her sensitive, herding dog nature. Her instinct is always on alert.
Low barker. Well suited for a townhouse, or single family home.
🐕 Dog & Cat Friends
Aurora thrives with a confident, medium to large size dog and makes a fun, energetic playmate. She takes cues well, shows no aggression/reactivity, and loves a good tug of war session (stuffy toys beware, they don’t stand a chance! 😄).
She is cat neutral with slow introductions and has lived with cats successfully in the past.
🚶♀️ Activity & Training
Daily walks/exercise are a must, and she is still polishing her leash manners. If you need a running partner, then this may be your girl.
Food motivated, eager to learn, and very trainable.
A fast learner who would thrive in a home willing to invest time in training commands, or activities such as agility training, scent work etc. will be important. Any confidence building activities would help her shine and stay calm and fulfilled.
Tolerant of brushing, nail trims, and even teeth brushing.
🏡 At Home
Aurora is fully house trained, crate trained for shorter periods, also fine being left unattended. She hasn't shown to have separation anxiety when she is left with her current canine companion.
Ideally, she would do best in a home where she isn’t left alone all day, every day. Her intelligent, working dog nature needs stimulation and connection, and she won’t thrive if she’s consistently bored.
✨ Aurora is looking for a home where she can be part of the pack, feel secure, and share her loyal heart.
If you’re searching for a devoted companion who will stick by your side through every adventure, Aurora might just be your perfect match.
