GOAL Achieved! Thank you Jen and Laura. $370 has been covered for this beautiful girl. The extra money will be set aside to help the next pet in need.

PS - we have many coming - so please stay tuned to see if one of the lovely faces we post calls to your sponsor heart :)

Can you help??

We are looking to raise $350 to help this sweet lady get her spay.

Originally belonging to a neighbour who went away for a week, this pup was left alone in an apartment with no food or water. When the current owner checked in as she was asked to, she found the dog had chewed a shoe and when she reported this back, the neighbour said he didn’t want her anymore. So she kept her and provided her with a loving home - with a cat friend too. She's a bouncy teenager who will benefit from being spayed to calm those rushing hormones and erase the fear of an accidental pregnancy in their high-density building and neighbourhood where intact male dogs are all around.

*no comments on original owner. We are looking to get help to support current owner.

Funds are REALLY low and as we work on fundraising options, we LOVE that others help on our behalf.

Thank you to Sweet Peas Pantry Too; Vintage and Repurposed for their recent donation of $150. *Thank you to Ashlee from dropping off books and other items left over from the garage sale.

Thank you to Rebecca who cleaned out another load of empties for a total of $81.10.

So far this year we have helped 359 pets and a total of $42,904.96 has been spent to do so. Numbers are down this year, we understand donations are harder to come by. But we think that every pet we help is a step in the right direction.

So THANK YOU to our supporters!

Fundraising is such a HUGE part of what we do. It really is the base for all of it, no other way to sugar coat it.

Fundraising is also HARD. It is hard to ask people to donate their hard earned money to support others, hard to continuously work at finding ways to engage people, hard work to run events, but really this is the only way forward.

So we ask today, are you able to help support other families trying to do their best to spay and neuter their pets?

A small donation from you can help us support them!

Ways to donate
E-transfer to [email protected]
*tax receipts for donations over $20 in a year *please add your address

Donations through CanadaHelps.org

Donations through The United Way and your work place

Run a fundraiser on our behalf (collect empties, run a bake sale or garage sale in your neighborhood etc)
*thank you to Rebecca who is currently working on empties for us (so far bringing in $153.90)
*thank you to Sweet Peas Pantry Too; Vintage and Repurposed for their continuous efforts in selling items on our behalf (with a recent donation of $220.00)

Support us at the Great Glebe Garage sale - coming end of May *more details to follow.

Or join our flipgive.com TEAM (code - 7B4CZH) and earn us cash back through your online purchases. To day we have earned over $2100 from people supporting us in this manner. It costs you nothing, shop your regular stores OR (best part I think) grab gift cards online to use at the same stores you are planning to go anyways. We earn cash back. You spent nothing more. Win win!
*gift cards are electronic here

We are also set up on FundScript.com (code - RJUVBV). Same idea as flipgive BUT you get physical gift cards mailed to you! HUGE selection to chose from.

PALOOZA 2.0 in the books.

I just could not keep up with posting everyday last week so here is a RECAP now!

Thanks to the Lanark Leeds & Grenville Spay Neuter Clinic

177 cats were spayed and neutered last week through our Palooza event!!

We also supported 2 rescues to get discounts during the week.

$21,172.75 was spent to support them!

Thank you to everyone who supported this event!!!! We cannot help owners without the support of our followers. From donations to fundraising this is how we chip away at the over population crisis.

SO MANY TO THANK!

Thank you to all owners who went through the process. Even some repeat owners :) Thank you for taking the first step to healthier pets and helping the overpopulation crisis by not allowing your pet to be part of it!

To our volunteers
Debbie for volunteering at our Dempsey location
Veronica, Heidi and Lisa volunteering at our Almonte location
Margot volunteering at the Pinecrest and Hampton location
Ashlee, Lyndsay, Christine (who also helped pick up cats to bring to the location) for our Sandy Hill location. (also special thanks to Rosalie :)

To our driver Wally. It's a big week of driving!

Special thanks to Councillor Stéphanie Plante - Rideau Vanier that visited our Palooza day on Friday afternoon. Thank you to her and her office for all the support to bring this event to the Sandy Hill area.

We also thank Marty Carr- Alta Vista Ward/Quartier Alta Vista and her office for the support for the Dempsey community day.

Thank you to the Ottawa Humane Society for coming to both our Dempsey and Sandy Hill locations to hand out free food to support owners.

Another special thanks to Pet Valu and Shelby for providing coffee and timbits for our owners in the morning as well as kitty goodie bags to take home!

Thank you to Zoetis for their donation of the rabies and flea/deworming treatments for anyone who needed it.

And once again HUGE thank you to Lanark Leeds & Grenville Spay Neuter Clinic and all their staff for supporting us in this event!! They are truly amazing. The amount of messages back and forth to make sure everything is set - they deserve a gold medal!

Here are some pictures of the event this past week.

**ALSO note we sponsored 3 dogs at Mississippi Mills Animal Hospital on the day we were in Almonte. Just don't have that total yet :)

UPDATE on spay and neuter support at this time.

Right now we are OUT OF FUNDS. We didn't raise quite as much as we had hoped to for Palooza. Our application form have been temporarily closed. We can't keep booking more pets in without funds. So we need to build the bank back up!
