Recent public policy friction highlights major delays in approving life-saving therapies for ovarian cancer in Canada.

Unlike other cancers, there is no effective routine diagnostic or screening test for ovarian cancer in the general population. Early signs are subtle, roughly 75% of Canadian patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage (Stage 3 or 4), severely impacting the 5-year survival rate.

Timely and equitable access to innovative treatments that address later stage diagnosis are key to improving outcomes for this population.

The Canadian Cancer Survivor Network is pleased to introduce Sisters United Hair as a new partner.

Sisters United Hair is a Canadian supportive care company helping people navigate treatment-related hair loss through education, personalized guidance, and human-hair medical wig options.

For many people, looking for a medical wig begins at an already overwhelming time. There can be a lot to figure out quickly: when to start looking, what type of wig to choose, how fit and sizing work, what different options mean, and what to consider before making a purchase.

Sisters United Hair helps make that process easier to understand.

Patients and caregivers can reach out with questions, learn what to expect, and better understand the options available to them. For those who want more support, personalized guidance offers a chance to talk through individual needs, preferences, lifestyle, budget, and concerns, with help narrowing down the options that may be the right fit.

Sisters United Hair also offers ready-to-wear and custom human-hair medical wig options for those ready to take the next step.

Whether someone is preparing for treatment-related hair loss, already experiencing it, or simply has questions about where to begin, the goal is to help them feel more informed and supported throughout the process.

Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with early-stage colorectal cancer?

Patient organizations are gathering input from patients with early-stage colorectal cancer to inform a funding review of dostarlimab (Jemperli) and atezolizumab (Tecentriq) + chemotherapy.

We are seeking patients, survivors, and caregivers to complete a short, confidential survey about their experience with stage II or III colorectal cancer and its treatment. You do not need to have received either therapy to complete the survey. Individuals who experienced a recurrence are also eligible to complete the survey.

Your experiences play a critical role in helping decision-makers better understand the real-world impact of cancer and its treatments.

If this applies to you or someone you care for, we encourage you to complete the survey and share your experience: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DS28B5F

Virtual Panel: Indigenous Values in Care | September 29, 2026 | 11:00 am – 12:30 pm MT

In acknowledgement of Truth and Reconciliation Day, the Indigenous Caregivers Collective (ICC) is hosting a panel to explore the Indigenous experience of caregiving. Centering the voices and experiences of Indigenous caregivers and moderated by Dr. Grant Bruno, this session will explore why Indigenous caregivers may be less likely to self-identify in this role and reflect on what reconciliation looks like through the lens of Indigenous caregiving.
Panelists will include feature members of the National Indigenous Caregiver Advisory, a group that brings together a wealth of lived experience and diverse perspectives from across the country.

The ICC is an initiative supported by the Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence, a program of the Azrieli Foundation.
