The Rural Root Theatre Company Let Us Entertain You! http://www.ruralroot.org Both questions were answered in an amazingly short time span. Mr.

In March 2005, a small group of enthusiastic theatre buffs met at the Kinburn Community Centre to discuss the possibility of starting a dramatic arts community in West Carleton. The group was convinced that the interest and energy were present in the community - the burning question was could it be tapped and, if so, where could productions be held? The original core group quickly found a response

in the community. Characters were auditioned and cast for three varying dramatic pieces were quickly approved. The initial core of dedicated drama buffs found themselves expanding. As for a suitable venue, approaches were made to Ward 5 Councillor Eli El-Chantiry for use of the old council chamber in what is now the Kinburn Client Service Centre. Chantiry responded positively and enthusiastically to the idea and deserves much of the credit, along with the staff at the Client Service Centre, for easing the transformation of Council Chamber to Theatre. In October 2006, RRTC moved to our new facility at the Constance and Buckham's Bay Community Centre.

SYNOPSIS: Unbalanced is a two-act play centered around a real-life bank robbery in small-town Ontario in 1951. We follow the bank manager, secretary, and tellers as they go about an average work day serving customers in the Bradford branch of the Bank of Commerce, just one hour north of Toronto. Average, that is, except that a major client has died and his widow takes the bank manager to task over missing money. An undercurrent of illicit affairs, financial shenanigans, unbridled ambition and lover's jealousy emerges as the bank manager slowly loses his grip on the professional façade. When three armed men, members of the infamous Boyd Gang, storm the bank, rash decisions forever change the face of the town. Twenty years later, key players return to the scene on the anniversary of the robbery, causing old emotions to resurface, tensions to rise and accusations to fly. See less
