JazzWorks Community Spotlights are a new initiative to recognize the invaluable contributions of our wonderful JazzWorks community members! For our first spotlight, we're dually recognizing Chris & Chris, our sound gurus!

You might recognize Chris G. for his shredding on the guitar, either at our jams or with his wonderful band Standing Waves (our jam hosts this past October) and Chris T. for laying down beats on the drums, either at our jams or with his fantastic band Four on the Floor (our jam hosts this past January)!

However, when they're offstage, Chris & Chris are the unsung heroes of the soundboard; they're the reason all of the jam participants sound SO good! We at JazzWorks are so thankful to both Chris G and Chris T for all that they do.

JOIN THIS SUMMER for JAZZWORKS'S 31st ANNUAL JAZZ CAMP! Register now for one or both of our jazzy get-aways (August 24-27 and 27-30) at CAMMAC'S Music Centre on the serene shores of Lac MacDonald, QC! (Calling especially BRASS, BASS & DRUM PLAYERS to help us create balanced ensembles for the Aug 27-30 camp)! Receive personal instruction from our distinguished faculty within a welcoming and supportive community of other adult learners who are passionate about jazz. Indoor and camping (tent and RV) accommodations are available onsite ... for now!!! Learn more about jazz camp here.

Composer's Symposium/Practice Retreat (Aug 24-27) : Choose between the Composer’s Symposium or the Practice Retreat, both with private sessions, group workshops, and jams! At the Composer’s Symposium, create original musical compositions with guidance on melody-writing, transposing, chord progressions, and writing charts for multiple instruments. At the practice retreat, take advantage of the camping experience to escape from daily distractions and enjoy uninterrupted personal practice time!

Jazz Camp (Aug. 27-30) : This 3-day intensive camp features combo instruction, jams, and masterclasses, and culminates in a final participant concert! Open to instrumentalists and singers (with an optional Vocal Intensive Stream), our programming will help you develop knowledge and skills in jazz improvisation, theory, history, and collaborative playing. (Please note that we are currently prioritizing registration from drummers, bassists and brass players to help create balanced ensembles)!
