Sexual Assault Support Centre Ottawa The Sexual Assault Support Centre (SASC) is a non-profit charity and community based organization established in 1983.

Our purpose is to provide survivor directed support services by women, to women, who have experienced sexual violence. We strive to increase public awareness and offer training on the issues and effects of violence against women. We also engage in action to pressure for change in the structures and systems that contribute to the practice, maintenance, and tolerance of violence, oppression, discrimination and exploitation. Our work is informed by the principles of a feminist, anti-oppression framework, and our vision is a society free of all forms of violence.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we recognize the importance of reflecting on the ongoing impacts of colonialism and honouring Indigenous Peoples, Survivors, and their families and communities.

As we continue our work supporting survivors of sexual assault and gender-based violence and improving access to justice, we hold space for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people and recognize the continued need for meaningful action toward justice and reconciliation.

We reflect, learn, and commit to reconciliation today and every day 💜

Thank you to CUSA for having us at Carleton for Consent Awareness Week, and to everyone who stopped by and shared their thoughts with us.

CUSA

It was so heartfelt seeing the “What Were You Wearing?” gallery come together through everyone’s voices, reflections, and courage to raise awareness around consent.

We were also happy to share the day with the Ottawa Hospital’s Sexual Assault and Partner Abuse Care Program.

Self-Care Kits — Summer 2026 ☀️

A heartfelt thank you to the community members and organizations who continue to hold space for us and help create opportunities for our self-care kits to connect with folks in our community.

These kits are shared with young women and women in our community as a reminder that support is built together through care, connection, and knowing that you are never alone.

As we prepare for our up coming Self-Care Kits, we welcome donations of menstrual products and other personal hygiene items to help us continue this work.

If you would like to support the initiative, please email [email protected].

Thank you for helping us care for and support our community.
