We remember Cst. Doug Larche, Cst. Fabrice Gevaudan and Cst. Dave Ross who were tragically killed in the line of duty at Moncton, New Brunswick on June 4, 2014 while responding to calls from alarmed residents about an armed male observed carrying long guns in a residential area. They gave their lives protecting the community they served; a place they called home. Heroes in life, we will remember them for their character and their humanity, and pass our enduring respect to their families, friends and RCMP colleagues who knew them best, loved them and feel their absence most acutely. 🍁

REMEMBERING CPL. AINSWORTH DYER, PPCLI AT THE AFGHAN MISSION MEMORIAL GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY - OTTAWA - MAY 4, 2026

RCMP members and RCMP Veterans were deeply honoured to meet with a close friend of the family of Cpl. Ainsworth Dyer, a soldier of the 3rd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI), who was tragically killed at Tarnak Farm, Kandahar, Afghanistan on April 17, 2002 in a friendly fire accident that also killed three other Canadian soldiers; Sgt. Marc Daniel Leger; Private Richard Green and Private Nathan Lloyd Smith.

Our respects to the memory of all the Canadian military and civilian personnel lost in Afghanistan. We will remember them. 🙏🍁
