Canadian Disaster Response Organization: Support of Emergency Preparedness Week

Canadian Disaster Response Organization is pleased to support the national, provincial and territorial initiatives of Emergency Preparedness Week 2026, May 3rd to 9th.

An awareness initiative that encourages all Canadians to ensure they are prepared for the risks in their geographical location. Individual and family preparedness will reduce the consequences of hazards before, during and after the impact.

CDRO Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer Ian Becking encourages all Canadians to participate:

“Canadian Disaster Response Organization encourages Canadians to participate in Emergency Preparedness Week and follow this year's national theme: Be Prepared. Know your risks. Canadians can achieve preparedness though the initiatives of national, provincial & territorial emergency management organizations.”

Canadian Disaster Response Organization’s Education Portfolio is pleased to support the Ontario Ministry of Emergency Preparedness and Response in offering the EM-200 Basic Emergency Management Course and the IMS-200 Basic Incident Management Course.

These MEPR courses are free, and will be offered through in-person instructor led training across Ontario.
