🔥🌳🔥Wildfire smoke is becoming a common yearly occurrence here in Ottawa, as we have experienced in recent summers.

In this Monday’s Climate CAFES on CKCU 93.1FM, Angela Keller-Herzog sits down with Ottawa family physician Dr. Helen Hsu of the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE) to talk about what's actually in that smoke, how it affects our lungs and hearts, and who's most vulnerable. Thumbs Up for Renewable Energy! CAFES is going to be at the Navan Fair with our partner OREC - Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-operative!

Tired of high electricity bills and power outages? It doesn’t have to be this way!
Come visit our table to explore home energy solutions, hear about ways to save on your energy bills, and learn how you can support local renewable energy.

Navan Fair will be going on from Thursday, Aug 6 to Sunday, Aug 9. CAFES will be tabling indoors in the Navan Curling Club all four days.

There are lots of fun activities for all ages! Come for the fun, and maybe learn something new!

This report also found that those who report high-levels of concern are also more likely to take actions to reduce their environmental impacts, like reducing food waste, reducing energy use, taking transit, biking, or walking instead of driving.

At CAFES, we know that collective action at the municipal level is what drives effective change. So we invite you to join us, and turn your climate concern into climate action.
