Carl Meyer is The Narwhal’s Ontario and climate investigations reporter, based in Ottawa. In 2024 he won a Canadian Association of Journalists award for his dogged reporting on the climate pledges of oilsands companies. Carl’s work has been featured in a political party’s attack ad, in academic research, on the radio, in newspapers and in newsletters. Prior to The Narwhal, he worked at Canada’s National Observer where he wrote about the science and politics of climate change, and at the Hill Times where he covered defence, diplomacy and international trade. Carl’s position is supported in part by the Trottier Family Foundation. As per The Narwhal’s editorial independence policy, the foundation has no editorial input.
Conrad Fox is the founder of Studio Canek a media company dedicated to raising the voices of the least-heard, through audio journalism, podcasts and voice-driven elearning, with a focus on the environment, migration and other social justice issues. He has led multiple international collaborations to produce podcasts from a global perspective. Studio Canek's most recent project is a series of audio documentaries on ocean conservation in Mexico.
