It's not just business and consumer activity which has changed since the start of the Iran war. After yet another conflict which shows the sketchiness of oil as a global energy source, importing countries are changing their energy policies to encourage electrification. This example is South Korea, an industrialized country which we might imagine becoming a market for Canadian Oil. Their electrification plans are audacious - they aim for a rapid increase of electric vehicles from 10% to 40% of the personal vehicle market.
Against this backdrop, Canadian taxpayers should not be putting money into a pipeline. The markets we are chasing are making plans to disappear
