A Beautiful Day of Remembrance
Yesterday, our Unitarian House community came together for a truly meaningful Garden of Remembrance ceremony to honor the residents we have lost over this past year.
Surrounded by friends, family, and neighbours, we shared stories, memories, laughter, and tears as we reflected on the lives of those who helped shape our community. Together, we planted a memorial garden filled with lavender, daisies, poppies, and forget-me-nots. Each flower chosen for its special meaning of peace, hope, remembrance, and enduring connection.
As we read the names of those we have lost, listened to heartfelt reflections, shared memories, and gathered in quiet remembrance, we were reminded that while these residents are no longer with us, their kindness, wisdom, humor, and friendship continue to live on in our hearts and in the spirit of Unitarian House.
A special thank you to everyone who attended, shared stories, helped organize the event, and contributed to making the day so meaningful. The garden we planted will continue to grow and bloom as a lasting tribute to the lives and legacies of our cherished residents.
May this garden serve as a place of reflection, comfort, and remembrance for years to come.
