Life Through Learning Society is a not for profit organization whose focus is to help educate and empower people in the most impoverished areas of the globe. Our first project is to build a K-9 school in Dame-Marie, Haiti, an area badly damaged by Hurricane Matthew that struck in Oct. 2016. Through Learning has a team of very committed and inspired people residing both here in the lower mainland as well as Haitian locals, and Canadians living in Haiti. We are also looking to expand our network! We are looking to find people inspired to jump on board. People who want to help with fundraising, spreading the word, event setting and educators willing to share their skills with Haitian teachers in Haiti as well as other tasks that we'll need help with as we progress. Our goal is to raise $100,000 for year one. This will cover the building and operations of the school for the first year. Fundraising must continue, as the demand for growth within the school systems in Haiti is imperative to the future well-being of our neighbors from the Caribbean region. It is almost unthinkable that there is a place on this continent where tens of thousands of kids have no access to education, clean water, proper nutrition or decent shelter.
