Good afternoon, Lynn Valley! It’s a brand new week — and it’s going to be a fun one at the Legion. We’ve got something happening almost every day, and we’d love to see you!

Join us Monday and Tuesday at 3pm for Social Afternoons and darts — a great way to relax, chat, and throw a few.

Wednesday night at 7pm is Top Hits Bingo with DJ Gary Richards (please note the kitchen will not be open that night).

On Thursday, we’re serving up our Burger & Beer Special starting at 5pm, followed by Live Music Thursdays at 7pm with Olson Lloyd.

Friday is all about the Meat Draw and 50/50, kicking off at 6:30pm.

Saturday at 2:30pm it’s time for Meat Bingo, and on Sunday at 3pm, we’re closing out the week with our Open Mic Afternoon hosted by Holy Crowe.

There’s no better time to swing by, meet some new folks, and enjoy everything the Legion has to offer.

August 4, 1914 – A Nation Called to Serve

On this day in 1914, Canada entered the First World War. As a Dominion of the British Empire, we were automatically at war the moment Britain declared it — and our country answered the call with resolve and courage.

More than 650,000 Canadians and Newfoundlanders served, and over 66,000 never came home. Another 172,000 returned wounded, to a country of just 8 million people.

From Ypres to Vimy Ridge, Canadians earned a reputation for bravery and sacrifice. The war helped shape Canada’s national identity, and its effects were felt in every community — including here in Lynn Valley.

Today, we honour their legacy. If you’re walking past our place, take a moment and reflect. Their stories live on because we remember them.

We will remember them.

A very special (and slightly belated) Happy 97th Birthday to Grace Baudoux! 🎉🎂

97 — what an incredible milestone! Grace is one of our incredible Lifetime Members, and throughout the years she has been deeply involved in the Legion community. Her dedication and presence have meant so much to so many.

We’re so grateful to be able to wish her a very happy birthday, even a few days late. Grace, we hope you had a beautiful celebration surrounded by love — you deserve it! 💐💕

Thank you to everyone who joined us tonight for Live Music Thursdays! We had the pleasure of welcoming the lovely and talented Randy Swallow, and he did not disappoint — such a great performance! It was a beautiful evening filled with good music, friendly faces, and great energy.

A big thanks to all the new guests who came by for the first time, and of course, to our regulars who always make the night special.

What a night! From disco to folk to classic rock, we had a blast dancing (and singing) through the decade. The energy was high, the kitchen was open, the drinks were crisp and the vibes were just right.

A big shoutout to everyone who took home a win — especially those who scored their very first bingo victory! It’s a special little club to be part of, and we’re so glad to see more of you joining in the fun. And a belated Happy Birthday to Bill!
