York Region Community Choir

York Region Community Choir Community Choir in York Region, Ontario. Meets Tuesdays 7:30-9:30pm at The York Region Admin Ctr.

Established in Newmarket in 1995, The York Region Community Choir is a non-auditioning mixed adult choir. The men and women in the choir benefit from this active outlet for musical expression, and also consider it a fun way to contribute to the community. The choir enriches the quality of life of seniors in the community, by visiting retirement residences and giving seniors entertaining and inspir

ing performances and the opportunity to sing with the choir with sing-along selections. The choir has performed at several community events over the years, including the Aurora Relay for Life, and the York Region Character Community Awards Celebration. The York Region Community Choir puts on 2 public performances every year, in December and May.

We will miss choir over the summer. Create some singing opportunities: People tend to get together more over the summer. Invite some friends over and sing together! You can use an app like Apple Music or YouTube that have songs with lyrics. Go to live outdoor concerts and sing and dance with the music! We'll be back together in September, right after Labour Day.

That was so much fun! Thank you, my choir, for showing up to sing and smile, and for kindly putting up with my singing the bass part whenever I could. 😅🎶 I really hope Winston gets over his cold by next week! You all sounded excellent and I had some very positive feedback: “the best choir I’ve heard” was one. What a lovely audience we had at the Barton!
