Photo Arts Club of Newmarket Photo Arts Club of Newmarket is for the beginner, intermediate and advanced photographers alike. We hold meetings, workshops and competitions each month.

Photo Arts Club of Newmarket was formed in 1984 to fill a need for a photographic club in York Region. The club is a member of the Greater Toronto Council of Camera Clubs, whose purpose is to foster relationships with other GTA Camera Clubs. Photo Arts Club of Newmarket is for the beginner, intermediate and advanced photographer alike. Whether you have been involved with photography for many years

Photo walk around Newmarket:
A couple of us hardy souls ventured out into last Thursday’s blowy winter morning for the “Themed Walk-about” trying to capture - yup, “cold winter”. The apres warm tea was a nice reward.

A fun image created at one if our our workshops... Here, a very slow shutter speed was used to expose the image over 30 seconds or even up to several minutes.

This allows the image maker to “light paint” the image by moving coloured lights through the frame. Because the exposure is so long, the moving lights become a blur and appear as clouds or fog.
