Two ways to get to the Quay tonight 🚊

The SkyTrain to New Westminster Station is a 10-minute walk down to the boardwalk, and you skip the parking hunt entirely.

Stairs not an option? Stick around to the end for the full step-free route: elevator down at the station, left over the McInnes overpass, elevator again, then the accessible ramp beside Craft Cafe. About 5 minutes.

🚌 Buses are running regular routes and get waved through the road closures, so transit is the easiest way in and out tonight.

Rain or shine, we’ll see you tonight. 🎆

Forecast says showers on and off through the evening, around 21°C dropping to 18°C by fireworks. It’s a jacket night, not a washout. The show goes ahead!

What to bring:
🧥 Rain jacket with a hood
🧣 Layers
🧺 Blanket or a low chair
💧 Water bottle

One favour: skip the umbrella. They block the view for everyone behind you on the boardwalk. ☂️🚫

Driving to the fireworks? Read this first. 🚗

⛔️ ROAD CLOSURES from 8:30 PM – 11:30 PM on August 22: Columbia St, Front St, Quayside Dr, Begbie St and Eighth St will be closed to through traffic. Coming from out of the area, Tenth St and Carnarvon St are your detour routes.

If you’re parking nearby, get there early and plan to walk the last stretch🚶

🅿️ NEARBY PARKADES that might suit your needs:
- Anvil Centre parkade (entrance on 8th St)
- Inn at the Quay advanced parking (also called “Lot 9014”)
- Pier West Info Centre public parking (near the Quayside Drive roundabout, sometimes doesn’t show on maps because it’s a brand-new building!)
- New Westminster Station parking (several entrances, also called “Shops at New West Parking Garage”)

And if you’re not a fan of paid parking (or searching for your parked car when it’s time to go home!), Evo has you covered. Grab an Evo, park it in a rideshare spot, and walk straight to the Boardwalk. 🚙💨

📢 Heads up, New West.

Saturday, August 22, these streets close to through traffic from 8:30–11:30 PM:

🚧 Columbia Street
🚧 Front Street
🚧 Begbie Street
🚧 Eighth Street

⚠️ Quayside Drive stays open but drops to a single alternating lane (expect delays).

Detour via Tenth St or Carnarvon St. Local resident traffic still gets through, and buses run their regular routes and are let through the barricades - so transit is still the easiest way in and out 🚌

Swipe → for parking restrictions and where you can still park 🅿️

Save this one. Thanks for your patience, New West.
