Our Spring 50/50 Raffle has officially closed!

Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets, shared the raffle with friends and colleagues, and helped make Inclusion BC's first 50/50 raffle a success. The jackpot total was $5,330!

Your support will help fund our Community Inclusion Advocacy Program, which helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to navigate systems, understand their rights, and access the resources they need to thrive in their communities.

Congratulations to our raffle winner and thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual General Meeting today. We were grateful for the opportunity to reflect on the past year, celebrate our community, and look ahead to the work still to come.

Together, we are building a province where everyone belongs.

Thank you for being part of it.

Too many children with disabilities are still being excluded from child care in BC because of waitlists, lack of staffing, inaccessible spaces, or unmet support needs. An inclusive child care system means removing barriers, not asking families to carry the burden alone.

“I got to try welding for the first time and enjoyed the experience, in fact, I went back twice to try it again. I was able to learn about protective equipment and was able to learn more about the skill set needed. I have a little bit more confidence when it comes to looking at roles in the skilled trades.”

A small investment of your time can open doors, helping someone build skills, confidence, and a path forward.

If you are finding it challenging to navigate supports for a child with medical complexities, or would like to learn more about accessing services and overcoming barriers to inclusion, we invite you to join our advocacy team in partnership with BC Complex Kids for a presentation and conversation on navigating barriers for children with medical complexities.

We will share helpful information and practical advocacy strategies, and we also want to hear about any barriers you know of in your community.

As BC celebrates Child Care Month, we’re reminding decision-makers that inclusive child care is not optional; it is a right. Every child deserves to belong, learn, and thrive in welcoming, accessible programs. Inclusion BC’s new position statement calls for action to make inclusion real for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
