These three cuties - Bliss, Gem & Kismet of the - were spayed today.
They’re rockin’ the red onesie to protect their incisions.
🖤🖤♥️

Their momma, Felicity, will be spayed tomorrow.

We’re planning to have the girls, their brothers Felix & Chance, and ‘cousin’ Azure at our Adoption Event at Bosley’s North Nanaimo on September 13.

Annndddd…
We’re planning to have another family of kittens at the event.
😻

Are you coming?
We’d love to see you!

Simba had his first surgery two days ago.
The simple surgery: his “snip”.
🎶 Goodness gracious, great balls of fire…
No more 🙀😉

His next surgery is the one that will truly change his life.
And we need your help to fund it.

We need to raise $3500 for the surgeon at Island Veterinary Eye Specialist to uncurl Simba’s lower eyelids, to save Simba’s sight.

Simba is struggling with entropion.
His lower eyelids curl inwards so his eyelashes rub on his eyeballs - also “Great Balls of Fire” but in the most painful way - all the time.
If you’ve ever had an eyelash rubbing your eye, you can imagine what Simba is dealing with.
All the time.
For months. Perhaps his whole life.

When he arrived in our care on August 13, his eyes were so swollen and infected that we couldn’t see his eyeballs.
We worried that he couldn’t see.
He’s been receiving eye drops and lubricant multiple times a day.
That’s given him some relief but isn’t a permanent solution.

This gentle giant deserves corrective surgery before the friction/rubbing causes permanent damage to his eyes and steals his ability to see.

Will you please donate towards the cost of Simba’s surgery? 💝

Adoption Update: Bogart

“Things are going wonderfully well with Bogart and Kitty.

“We have had bedding swaps, and room swapping too. They had a long face to face visit on Saturday through a screen. He played non stop and Kitty watched him. He would run to the screen and they would sniff noses and she would hiss, and he would wander off and play again. I love that he was unfazed by her reaction.

“On Sunday morning Kitty was waiting at our bedroom door and I just knew we had to let them visit without the screen barrier.

“Meghan had Bogart and I had Kitty and we fed them treats and they naturally found their way to one another. He is learning that Kitty doesn’t like to be surprised and she is getting used to his kitten antics.

“I felt so comfortable with their reaction to meeting that we went out for our son’s birthday dinner and we left them together AND at bedtime, instead of putting Bogart back in base camp, we let him stay in the main house with Kitty.

“I am delighted with their progress. She is the bestest girl and he is a wonderfully sweet kitten. He even stole my mom’s heart because I heard her whisper “do you think they would know if I took you home?””

Simba needs your help to save his sight.

You’ve felt the pain of an eyelash rubbing your eye? 🙀
Now imagine ALL your eyelashes, in both eyes, rubbing your eyes for months.
Maybe your whole life.

That’s happening to this affectionate gentle giant.
He has ‘entropion’.
His lower eyelids curl inwards, so his eyelashes rub the surface of his eyes every moment of the day.

When he arrived in our care on August 13, his eyes were so swollen and infected that we couldn’t see his eyeballs.
We worried that he couldn’t see.
He’s been receiving eye drops and lubricant multiple times a day.
That’s given him some relief but isn’t a permanent solution.

Simba had a thorough exam at Island Veterinary Eye Specialist.
He is scheduled for corrective surgery with their experienced veterinarian, who has done many of these eyelid surgeries over the years.

Will you please donate towards the cost of Simba’s surgery? 💝

Precious has tucked herself in for warmth as the days get chilly.

This quiet lady, a little bit shy until she knows you, would love to have her forever person to warm up with.

Could that be you? 🤞

Precious is three years young.
Has quiet hobbies like watching birds from the windowsill, supurrvising her foster pawrents, inspecting the warm laundry - another source of warmth, actually.
She’d enjoy being the only furbaby in a peaceful home.

Please read about Precious on our website.
Email [email protected] to schedule a meeting.

Thank mew. 🧡🤍

We are facing hard decisions about which kitties we can help because we don’t have enough foster homes. 😿

We don’t have a shelter, so we can only commit to bring cats or kittens to safety
IF WE HAVE A FOSTER PLACEMENT.

Could you be the hero a kitty needs?

We’ve been asked to help:
six eight-week-old kittens;
a gentle five-year-old boy, who needs a low-stress placement;
an abandoned lady cat who is struggling outside;
two shy teenagers who have been posted as adopt-from-foster but their current foster family is leaving on a trip;
kittens needing space to recover from their spay/neuter surgeries;
two six-month-old brothers, who needs to be neutered and then posted for adoption;
a four-year-old lady cat with trust issues;
a four-year-old boy who needs to re-learn the joys of indoor living;
two friendly bonded brothers, aged seven years young;
young adult cats who are learning to trust people…

And more requests keep coming in.

As a foster family, you’ll need a separate space in your home and time to help your “guest” heal or gain confidence with people.
We provide the food, kitty litter, supplies.
We cover approved veterinary care.

You need to live close enough to Nanaimo, Parksville, Qualicum for transport to/from our veterinary partners.

Details and the foster application are on our website.
Or email our Foster/Adoption Coordinator at [email protected]

Please, help us help them.

Adoption Update: Sakura of the

Sakura is named Inara now. 🌸
Her adopters sent this update and photos to the foster pawrents…

“Think of you often as we’re so grateful for having Inara come into our lives 🥹 Thought I’d send a little update of our growing girl. She’s adapted so well, is ever playful and adventurous, my personal office assistant (who takes her printer duties very seriously 🖨️🤓) and our lil snuggle bug! She also has us in stitches and giggles on the daily 🤣

“Her most recent vet check up and vaccinations all went well too.

“Enjoy some pics of this lil fur ball… ok maybe I sent too many sorry but it’s so hard to choose haha.”

We have several other kittens getting ready for adoption.
Teenagers and adults, too.

Please read about them on our website and social media, and watch for new postings, please.

Every kitty deserves to be this cherished. 💝
