Did you know that some seniors in your community are no longer able to walk their dogs due to age, illness, or mobility challenges? For many of them, their dog is more than a pet. They’re a best friend, a source of comfort, and an important companion.

By volunteering to walk a dog, you can help keep seniors and their beloved companions together. A simple walk provides exercise and enrichment for the dog while giving peace of mind to the owner, knowing their furry friend is being cared for.

If you have a little time, a love of dogs, and want to make a meaningful difference in your community, we’d love to hear from you.

Please email us at [email protected] to become a volunteer. Or check us out at www.elderdog.ca

‼️ADOPTION OPPORTUNITY‼️(Nanaimo, BC)

🌸PEANUT🌸

This adorable 10 y/o 42 lb Beagle is looking for his retirement couch.

Peanut is definitely a social butterfly as he loves to hang out on the couch with you while you watch TV or just be around you in the house. He loves people and is eager to meet other dogs/people on his daily walks. He loves his selection of veggie snacks which is good for keeping him in shape. Peanut also loves his perimeter checks and doing the occasional zoomie so a fenced in back yard is definitely on his retirement list.

📧 [email protected]

Peanut is a delicate soul and has spent most of his life with his sidekick Lucy. He does get separation anxiety when left at home alone but he is not destructive. He likes to sing the songs of his people for a while and then he settles down but he is still working on that. Going to the Vet is definitely not on his list of favorite trips.

Peanut did spend a great deal of his life with his sidekick Lucy, and in an ideal world it would be nice for them to remain together, but as long as Peanut has his people, perhaps another buddy in the household, a fenced in back yard, a lounging couch and healthy snacks, he will be content in his retirement!

If you would like some more information about Peanut or his sidekick or would like to submit an application to adopt him please contact our Rehoming Coordinators directly at ElderDog Nanaimo - [email protected].

‼️ADOPTION OPPORTUNITY‼️ (Nanaimo, BC)

💜LUCY💜

Lucy is looking for her forever home. Lucy is a very chill 12 y/o 38lb Beagle and absolutely adores hanging out with you and taking casual sniffary walks politely encountering other people and dogs along the way.

📧 [email protected]

Like any Beagle, she loves her food and her snacks of carrots, bananas or sweet peppers are a hit! She loves doing perimeter checks around the back yard and sunbathing so a fenced in back yard is best for her. She is also very good around other dogs in the house so she would be fine with another furry friend. She is fine with a car ride, even if it is to the Vet. Except for regular ear cleaning and a bit of arthritis, Lucy is in good health.

Lucy did spend a great deal of her life with her sidekick Peanut, and in an ideal world it would be nice for them to remain together, but as long as Lucy has her people, perhaps another buddy in the household, a fenced in back yard, a lounging couch and healthy snacks, she will be content.

If you would like some more information about Lucy and her sidekick Peanut or would like to submit an application to adopt her please contact our Rehoming Coordinators directly at ElderDog Nanaimo - [email protected]
