Our Story
Pet Searchers Nanaimo was founded by Cyndie Courneyea (me ) in 2007 . I moved to Nanaimo from East Vancouver in 2006 . I found myself coming across several lost dogs and taking them to the SPCA or Animal Control , often worried if they ever got home, or were adopted out . I dont know if it was a natural “knack” , skill? or sheer luck , but I always found wandering dogs .One day it struck me ... I should make some kind of FB Page to post animals I find and possibly I could return them home myself . I have a huge yard , fully fenced ,warm bed for the dogs until we found their parents ....Before I knew it I had 100 followers , then 1000 then 4 thousand !!!! WOW Pet searchers had officially taken off . People messaging me with photos of lost dogs , people posting found dogs ..stories of people getting reunited with their fur babies
