Meet Louise, lovingly nicknamed Lucy by our Italian rescue family. 🇮🇹
Not long ago, she was just another forgotten soul on the streets of Calabria, southern Italy. One of hundreds born into a heartbreaking cycle of abandonment, uncontrolled breeding, and suffering. Dogs who never asked to be born into a world where there is simply no room for them, and where the people fighting to save them are left with almost no resources or support.
But this time, someone saw her. And because of YOU, Lucy’s story changed.
With just €300 raised by our beautiful community, and the tireless, unpaid efforts of our family and friends in Italy, Lucy was rescued, microchipped, vaccinated, sterilized, and treated for fluid in her elbow.
She then made the long journey from Calabria all the way north to a beautiful refuge near Lake Como, where she can finally rest, feel safe, and wait for a family who will love her for the rest of her days.
€300. That’s all it took to change the entire world of one little soul.
But while we celebrate Lucy, hundreds more are still waiting. Still hungry, still abandoned, still giving birth to another generation destined for the same suffering. Without sterilization, resources, and real intervention, this heartbreaking cycle will never end.
To everyone who donated, shared, transported, cared, and gave countless hours without asking for anything in return, THANK YOU. You reminded us that even when the system fails them, humanity doesn’t have to.
Lucy’s journey is only beginning. We still need help funding her stay, and we’ll continue sharing her progress until the day she finds her forever family.
