The Simba Foundation In honour of Simba, our heart and our why. We are a global nonprofit rescuing animals and restoring hope, one life at a time. One mission. Countless lives.

This isn’t just what we do, it’s who we are. Every story matters.

Most people see a transformation. I see a life that almost never happened…

The wounds that healed. The weight that came back. The fur that grew in. But that’s not what these photos are about. They’re about a decision.

The cat in the first photo didn’t know help was coming. He didn’t know he would survive. He didn’t know he would one day have a name, a home, a family, or a place to sleep without fear.

All he knew was pain. The truth is, he wasn’t supposed to make it. Not because he lacked the will to live.

But because stray animals don’t get to choose their outcomes. We do.

Every day, animals like Leo are overlooked because they’re not our responsibility.

Someone else will help.

Someone else will stop.

Someone else will care.

Until nobody does.

Leo’s story changed because one person refused to walk past his suffering and call it someone else’s problem. One person decided that his life mattered and that decision became the difference between these two photos.

The difference between dying and living.
Between surviving and thriving. Between being forgotten and being loved.

The most powerful part of rescue is realizing that animals don’t need a voice to ask for help.

They need people willing to listen anyway.

Leo is here today because somebody did.

The day we stumbled upon Luce, it felt like the world quietly asked us a question. Do you keep walking… or do you stop for this little life in front of you?

We could have chosen ease. We could have gone to the beach, continued our vacation, and let the moment pass. But we didn’t.

And that single pause became the beginning of everything. The moment Luce’s whole world changed - and so did ours.

We often get asked how to go about rescuing a cat while traveling. The truth is, we are no different than anyone else. No more skilled. No more educated. We just chose to pause… and make a decision from our hearts.

The next time you see an animal who needs help, take a moment. Pause. They may not get another chance. We flew home to Canada with Luce and were gifted 10 months together before she passed in our arms. Ten months may not seem like long, but we like to believe she finally felt safe enough to rest - after a life that had asked her to be so strong for so long.

Welcome to the TSF family, Hermes 🩶

This beautiful 7 month old Cane Corso x Great Dane mix was recently surrendered to us through no fault of his own and is now looking for a loving foster home. Hermes is incredibly sweet, affectionate, clingy, playful, and full of charm. He loves being around people and already shows so much potential to become an extremely loyal and loving companion.

Hermes gets along well with other animals, including dogs and cats, and has a gentle nature. While we have not yet professionally assessed him with children, we have been told he has always been very kind with them. For now, we are looking for a foster home without children while he settles in and completes an assessment with a professional trainer.

As a young giant breed mix, Hermes will need structure, patience, and continued training, but he has an amazing foundation and such a loving personality. He deserves a safe place to land and a family willing to help him thrive.

If you are interested in fostering Hermes or would like more information, please send us a DM or contact us by email. Even sharing this post can help Hermes find the right home.
