🎙️ Another Job Readiness Podcast episode is on the way!

Our Job Readiness participants stepped behind the mic to record another episode of their podcast! This time, the conversation was all about networking, volunteering, and how building connections can lead to new opportunities.

The youth welcomed Maruf Hassan as their guest for the episode. Maruf works with Rogers and is active in the Greater Moncton community. This was also his second time connecting with our participants, after previously joining one of our Job Readiness sessions as a guest speaker.

Our youth had the chance to ask questions, hear about Maruf’s experience, and talk about the importance of stepping outside their comfort zones and making connections.

📢 WE’RE HIRING: Inclusion Support Worker (ISW)

BGC Moncton is looking for a caring, patient and dedicated Inclusion Support Worker (ISW) to join our team!

In this role, you will support children with additional support needs in a respectful, inclusive and strengths-based environment. You will work closely with our team to help children participate fully in our programs and have a positive, safe and meaningful experience.

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children and/or youth, particularly children with additional support needs
• Current First Aid and CPR Level C certification, or willingness to obtain it upon hiring
• Successful Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
• Successful Social Development check, where required
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow individualized support plans
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Ability to support children in a respectful, inclusive, trauma-informed and strengths-based manner
• Ability to respond appropriately to challenging behaviours, emotional dysregulation and other support needs

Preferred qualifications include:
• Education in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Behavioural Sciences or a related field
• Experience supporting children with disabilities, ADHD, autism, developmental delays, behavioural needs or complex needs
• Experience implementing individualized support or behaviour plans
• Training in trauma-informed practice, positive behaviour support, de-escalation, mental health, neurodiversity or inclusive practices
• Experience working in a licensed childcare, after-school, school or youth-serving environment
• Knowledge of the New Brunswick Early Learning and Childcare system and inclusion practices

We were happy to welcome Hon. Susan Holt and Hon. Rob McKee to the Club today!

They stopped by to spend some time with our children, learn a little more about what happens here and, of course, answer A LOT of questions! Our children were curious, excited, and definitely had plenty to say. They were having such a great time that they didn’t want to say goodbye!

Today, our Job Readiness youth visited Old Navy Moncton for a hands-on retail experience!

They practiced working at the cash register, learned about the retail industry, picked out professional interview outfits, and even participated in real job interviews with the Old Navy team.

This experience was made possible through the This Way ONward program, helping youth build the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the workforce.

A huge thank you to Old Navy Moncton for hosting our youth and providing such a valuable opportunity to gain real-world workplace experience. We truly appreciate your continued partnership! 💙

Help your child get ready for the new school year with our Prep for School tutoring sessions!

These free sessions are designed for students ages 8–12 who want to strengthen their Math or English skills, build confidence, and feel prepared for the year ahead.

Students can benefit from tutoring that helps them:
✨ Close learning gaps
✨ Build confidence in their skills
✨ Strengthen Math or English skills
✨ Prepare for the next grade level

Each child may register for a maximum of one 30-minute Math lesson and one 30-minute English lesson per day.
