Hubcity Theatre A non-profit theatre company based in southeastern, New Brunswick. Est. 2007 Artistic excellence is the top priority for staff, designers, and volunteers.

Our programming involves collectives of aspiring, emerging, and established artists in every production. Our mandate is fulfilled through these seasonal projects:

Shakespeare in the Park
This annual summer event is designed to make theatre accessible to everyone. It is a free, open-air presentation of one of William Shakespeare's tales presented annually in Centennial Park. Play Development
This

part of our season is designed to encourage established and emerging playwrights to collaborate with our theatre artists, in order to develop an original play. Selected scripts are prepared for the stage, and presented through public play readings and professional presentations. Arts Access
This ongoing outreach is designed to make theatre training accessible to the community. It is an opportunity to connect with future artists, and to encourage participation in the arts. Our theatre artists provide a myriad of theatre arts training through local schools, universities, and arts organizations. Professional Explorations
This cornerstone of our season is designed to allow our theatre artists to explore their own artistic interests. It can develop into an original script or an original interpretation of a classic script.

Here’s a look back at some moments of The Comedy of Errors. What an incredible run it was! From the first laugh to the final bow, it was a joy to share this classic comedy with such amazing audiences.
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support us, and to the talented cast, crew, and volunteers who made this production so special. We’ll be smiling about these memories for a long time.

We are SOLD OUT for sweet seats this evening, but you can still join us by making a donation at the door via cash or card. Just remember to bring your own chair (with a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and bug spray).

It’s time to introduce some other important crew members of The Comedy Of Errors!

Today we are featuring Jake Michaud & Laura Grove

Jake Michaud - Stage Manager
In 2020, Jake graduated from Mount Allison University with a minor in Drama Studies. Over the years he worked on a range of shows both on- and off-stage working in lighting design & operation, stage management and acting. His experience in Moncton includes a starring role in Roundhouse’s Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime in 2019 and 2024’s Stupid Fu***ng Bird, working behind-the-scenes as a Stage Manager for 2024’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and as a Lighting Designer in 2025’s CLUE. Jake hopes you enjoy what we’ve prepared for you tonight!

Laura Grove - Costumes/ Make Up
Laura has been thrilled to be involved in this years Shakespeare in the Park. From helping out with costumes and make-up, to being the resident cast RMT. This is Laura’s second time doing Shakespeare, with the last involvement as an actor 9 years ago in Hubcity’s Hamlet. Other shows she has done include Hubcity’s Miracle on 34th Street and Chameleon Jo’s eXpendable.
Though her love for all forms of theatrics is deeply embedded, her true passon in life is her family which include her two children (five and three) and her husband, Samuel Grove. Laura is so incredibly proud of the show Samuel has brought to life and knows that you are going to have the time of your life as you watch the hilarious chaos unfold.

We're excited to be back for our final performance in Riverview tonight!

Audiences are certainly having a great time at the shows, even powering through some light rain last night. But tonight seems to be a clear and beautiful day! However, it never hurts to be prepared for maritime weather so we suggest you bring sunglasses, a hat, a light jacket, bug spray, a parka, flip flops, crampons, freeze-dried survival meals, a coleman stove, and 4L of bottle water to be prepared.
