Beginning the week of June 8, we will be completing line painting on the trails at Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area. The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and visitors can expect rolling trail closures. All affected areas will be fully closed to the public during the week, re-opening Fridays at 5 p.m. and on weekends. We anticipate the project will occur in three phases and take three weeks to complete. We thank you for your patience as we continue to finalize trail work at this newly opened park.

Happy June 💚 and happy fawn season! 🦌

Young white-tailed deer are beginning to build their confidence as they explore meadows, forests and natural areas alongside their mothers. While these spotted fawns may seem small and vulnerable, they are often exactly where they’re supposed to be.

Mother deer frequently leave their fawns alone for short periods while they forage nearby, returning regularly to feed and care for them. If you come across a fawn, admire it from a distance and give it plenty of space so it can continue growing, learning and exploring the natural world.

A new chapter for Mississauga’s waterfront has officially begun! 🌿

🎉 We’re two days away from the grand opening of the Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area. Take part in the opening day programming on May 30 including a sunrise ceremony at 6 a.m. Make your way to the Indigenous Teaching Amphitheatre, about a 10-minute walk from the conservation area entrance.

Conducted by Raiden Levesque from the Métis Nation and the Eagle Spirits of the Great Waters drummers, it honours Mishoomis Giizis (Grandfather Sun) and we gather in community to express gratitude to creation and one another.
