Zajac Ranch Zajac Ranch, located on the shores of Stave Lake, in Mission, BC, serves children with serious and chronic illnesses and disabilities during summer months.

Zajac Ranch is also open year-round to entertain group bookings. In 1999, Mel Zajac had a vision to build a ranch facility to provide camp experiences for children with chronic and life-limiting conditions throughout British Columbia and Canada. This vision was inspired by the incredible impact he has seen through the ‘Hole in the Wall’ camps created by good friend of the Foundation, Paul Newman.

Launched five years later, Zajac Ranch for Children became a realization of this vision and remains the Foundation’s most ambitious project to date. Zajac Ranch, set within 44 acres of beautiful wilderness and western-themed camp facilities, rests on the shores of Stave Lake in Mission, BC. The ranch is conveniently located one hour east of Vancouver, BC, and can comfortably host 120 guests. In the summer months, Zajac Ranch for Children provides camps for children and young adults with chronic illnesses and disabilities. These experiences give participants the opportunity to explore the outdoors while developing greater social and environmental awareness, increased self-confidence and positive growth in attitudes towards physical activity.

September 5 is International Charity Day! We’re celebrating all of the generous people who come together to make Zajac Ranch a place where children, youth and young adults with medical conditions can experience the magic of summer camp.

We cannot express how grateful we are for the community that has helped to raise the spirits of our campers.

This International Day of Charity is for all our donors, partners, and volunteers! We couldn’t do this work without you!

Thank you Mr. L**e for another amazing carnival day at Zajac Ranch! Our campers loved playing the carnival games, like giant tic-tac-toe, and everyone enjoyed the special cotton candy machine.

We are so grateful for your partnership for the past 18 years and being a committed subsidy partner for our Zajac Camper Allowance Program.

We are especially grateful that you always leave us with new carnival supplies so that all our campers can enjoy the games and activities for years to come.

September is Arthritis Awareness Month and we want to start the month off right by highlighting one of our partners — Arthritis Society Canada !

Dedicated to arthritis research, advocacy, innovation, information, and support, Arthritis Society Canada does so much to better the lives of people living with arthritis.

Through our partnership, we’ve been able to dedicate an annual summer camp to children and youth living with arthritis. We are grateful to have the opportunity to share the joy of summer camp with children and youth who would not be able to experience it otherwise.

As our 2026 summer camp season is coming to an end, we are already planning for next year.

Today is World Lake Day and we’re celebrating the lake closest to our hearts (and our grounds) — Stave Lake!

More than just a gorgeous sight, Stave Lake serves as a hydroelectricity reservoir, a recreation site, and a fresh water habitat for fish, plants, and local wildlife.

Stave Lake remains usable by people and animals alike thanks to responsible environmental practices. At Zajac Ranch, our canoeing & kayaking activity allows participants to enjoy Stave Lake without disturbing the local fish and wildlife.

The Pirate Pak Day results are in! Together, we raised over $87,000 for our Zajac Camper Allowance Program, which provides a 50% subsidy on camp registration fees for every family.

Thank you to White Spot Restaurants for being incredible first mates to Zajac Ranch every year for the past 18 years! We are incredibly grateful for your partnership.

A huge thanks to Vancouver Whitecaps FC for sending Spike out to visit our campers at Zajac Ranch last week! It was such a joy for the campers to connect and create timeless memories.

We are also thrilled to have our own camper, Lena Foreman taking the field at BC Place on August 22nd as the Whitecaps Kid Captain!

The Kid Captain program celebrates inspiring children in our community and recognizes their resilience, community spirit, and sportsmanship.

The game starts at 6:30PM and we hope to see everyone in the stands to support Lena.

Thanks again to Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Spike for adding a little extra magic to our campers’ days.
