"WE ARE HUMBLE": TEN YEARS OF COMMUNITY BUILDERS 🎉

Our Founder and CEO Brandon Day was very humbled to be celebrating with so many partners and friends. 🙌

As we reflect on the journey, he points out that only one-third of new ventures make it to the 10-year mark. And as he puts it, we did it. 🏗️

We're grateful to everyone who helped us get here, and we're just getting started. 🧡

LOOKING BACK: HOMES FOR HEROES VETERANS' VILLAGE IN KINGSTON

In 2023, Community Builders was contracted to build 20 housing units for a veterans' village in Kingston, in partnership with Homes for Heroes Foundation. These villages provide veterans in need with their own homes, a peer community, individualized support structures, and a renewed sense of belonging. 🏘️

Our team built all 20 modular units in just six months at our Simcoe County warehouse, then shipped them to Kingston for final assembly. 🏗️

It was an incredible learning opportunity for our crew, combining prefabricated construction with real impact. Today, those units are home to 20 veterans who had previously been experiencing homelessness.

Projects like this prove modular building techniques are the way of the future. As affordable housing needs continue to grow across Canada, modern construction methods like these are exactly what we need to help close the affordable housing gap, faster builds, lower costs, and the same quality and care for deserving veterans who served our country.

"WHEN WE STARTED": TEN YEARS OF COMMUNITY BUILDERS 🎉

When CEO Brandon Day started Community Builders 10 years ago, he had no way of knowing it would look like this.

Today, we keep nearly 100 people working across four locations. By the end of this year, we'll have trained over 500 people into meaningful employment and renovated over 800 social housing units, among many other projects. 🏗️

None of it happens without the people who've been part of the journey, and it meant a lot to see so many of them together. 🙌

10 YEARS. 500+ TRAINEES. ONE MISSION.

Ten years ago, Community Builders set out to tackle two of Canada's toughest challenges – the affordable housing crisis and the skilled trades labour shortage – one graduating class at a time. In September 2026, we marked an important milestone, and by the end of the year over 500 trainees will have come through our doors since inception.

Every one of them leaves CB Certified with hands-on training, tools, safety certifications, and a real shot at meaningful employment. 🛠️

THIS BEFORE & AFTER BATHROOM EDITION...COULD BE YOURS! Hire us for your next reno!

Look at this transformation 💫 from a stripped-down subfloor and exposed plumbing to a fully finished bathroom with subway tile, hexagon flooring, and a new vanity. Transformations like this don't happen by accident. They result from skilled hands, careful planning, and trades training built for the real world.

Every renovation we take on is also a training ground, a chance for our trainees to build hands-on experience alongside experienced crews, while helping a homeowner get the space they've been waiting for. That's what building with purpose looks like: quality work today, and stronger careers for tomorrow.

💫 Last week TalentLift was in beautiful Sault Ste. Marie for an information session on economic immigration pathways, in partnership with the Sault Community Career Centre.

Our Legal Director, Veronica Wilson, discussed how Canada’s economic immigration pathways may help support people in Ontario reunite with family members still living in refugee situations worldwide.

Canada has many economic immigration pathways, but understanding and accessing them can be difficult, particularly for people navigating the system from displacement. The TalentLift Pathways Portal is one tool to get started exploring economic programs: It's a free public resource that helps people explore potential options while recognizing the additional barriers displaced individuals may face.

Thank you to the awesome team at Sault Community Career Centre for hosting this event, in partnership with Community Builders. We loved meeting members of the community on their journey to reuniting with family.

✨ We invite anyone seeking to reunite with family members still in displacement to explore the TalentLift Pathways Portal, as a step towards better understanding economic stream options: https://www.talentlift.ca/pathways-portal

This project is generously funded by The Law Foundation of Ontario, supporting our shared commitment to advancing access to justice. Read more about the TalentLift Pathways Portal here: https://www.talentlift.ca/introducing-a-new-way-for-families-to-navigate-economic-immigration-pathways
