In this episode, Ally, Strive Manager, hosts Andrew Fleet, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Growing Chefs! Ontario, to discuss the importance of food literacy for children, educators, and the community. They examine how the words we use influence children’s views of food as they grow, how the connections we have with food have changed over time, and how understanding the food we eat (how it grows, where it comes from, how it’s processed, etc.) can fundamentally change our relationship with the world around us. This opportunity is for professionals in leadership positions to come together and reflect on how to lead and support educators across various early learning and childcare programs. ✨ Topics may include administration, communication with families and professionals, inspiring a team, and more. This hands-on, in-person workshop, facilitated by Lobna Ajaini, MPED, HBECL, B.Eng, RECE, invites educators to explore risky play through reflection, exploration, and collaborative design. Participants will explore how children learn through challenge, uncertainty, and physical engagement, while rethinking how early childhood settings understand risk. Through open-ended materials and guided experiences, educators will explore, examine, and design environments that balance safety with opportunity - supporting children's confidence, resilience, and agency through intentional practice.
