On International Women’s Day we asked our co-founders what it means to them to be a woman and why they started Hygiene4Her. We got their responses!
Helia said: “For me, being a woman means carrying strength that is sometimes unseen.
It means resilience in moments when the world feels heavy, and courage even when your voice is shaking. Women throughout history have carried families, communities, and movements forward, and have done so often without recognition.
As a Persian woman who was born and lived in Iran as a teenager, this reflection feels especially meaningful this year.
Right now, women in Iran are fighting for something many people elsewhere take for granted: the freedom to exist as themselves. They are risking their safety simply for the right to choose, to speak, and to live with dignity.
Watching the bravery of these women reminds me that being a woman is not just about identity…
It is about recognizing that the struggles of women across the world are connected. Whether it is fighting for fundamental freedoms or ensuring access to basic necessities, dignity should never be a privilege.
This belief is part of why we created Hygiene4Her.
Access to hygiene products might seem small to some, but for many women it is deeply tied to dignity, confidence, and well-being. No woman should have to worry about whether she can afford the basic products she needs to live comfortably and participate fully in daily life.
International Women’s Day is a reminder that progress is possible when women support one another.
At Hygiene4Her, we are inspired by the strength of women everywhere. From our local communities to those who are courageously demanding their rights around the world.
