Elder abuse is often hidden.

In Canada, abuse affects between 4% and 10% of older adults, and only 1 in 5 incidents comes to the attention of someone who can help.

That means many older adults may be experiencing harm without support or a safe place to turn.

This is why World Elder Abuse Awareness Day matters.

Awareness helps communities recognize concerns earlier and connect people with support before harm continues.
