Yesterday was pretty incredible. π
We had so many people come out for Overdose Awareness Day in Kentville. People stopped by to learn, access resources, make signs, share stories, remember people they've lost, have some lunch and simply be together.
And that's really what a day like this is about.
Overdose affects people, families and communities, and talking about it matters. So does making harm reduction information and supplies available. So does knowing how to use naloxone. So does remembering the people we've lost without judgement or stigma.
A huge thank you to Healthy Minds Cooperative, BraveHeart First Aid and Nova Scotia Health (Nova Scotia Health Mental Health and Addictions Program) for coming together with the Portal to make yesterday happen. And thank you to every single person who stopped by, joined the walk, helped out or spent some time with us.
Seeing so many faces there meant a lot. π
Harm reduction saves lives.
