A milestone reached. A career begun.

Nate recently achieved something he once thought was out of reach, earning his CAEC through VCLA. With determination, support, and a growing confidence in his abilities, he stayed committed to his goal.

Today, Nate is taking the next step in his journey, working in an auto service centre and beginning his apprenticeship in the skilled trades.

Through collaboration with VCLA, the Valley Connector Program, delivered by the Valley Regional Enterprise Network, was proud to support Nate in connecting to this opportunity, helping bridge the gap between education and meaningful employment.

This is what partnership looks like in action.
This is workforce development in action.

πŸ‘ Congratulations, Nate!

The Valley needs its next generation of tradespeople β€” and mentorship plays a big role.

When experienced tradespeople take the time to guide young workers, knowledge stays local and teams grow stronger.

Mentorship helps youth:
β€’ Build confidence on the job
β€’ Learn expectations early
β€’ Take pride in their work

It also helps young people see a future for themselves right here in the Annapolis Valley.

The Valley Connector Program supports these connections by bringing together local trade employers and youth who are ready to learn and put the work in.

If you (or someone you know) are still figuring out what’s next after high school, there are more options than you might think.

Thinking about a career in the skilled trades?

One of the first steps to officially starting an apprenticeship is finding an employer who’s willing to hire you and sign you on as an apprentice. That’s where the Valley Connector Program can help.
