On June 9th we had our 3rd annual Tea Party and fundraiser. It was a fantastic afternoon with incredible people. Lots of treats, many supplied by the incredible Jess at as well as delicious tea supplied by Jenn at 💕 thank you so so much the day wouldn’t have been the same without eithers contributions. We had some tables set up with local businesses and of course we couldn’t talk about this event without acknowledging our speaker for the day Emily Boucher.

Emily made the topic of Economic Development into an engaging and educational discussion where we all learned just how much we make up everyday economic development within our communities and beyond. Stay tuned for some more photos!

On June 9th we had our 3rd annual Tea Party and fundraiser. It was a fantastic afternoon with incredible people. 🌿 Welcome to Year Two of the Canaan Farm Market! 🌿
We are so excited to welcome everyone back for our second season of the Canaan Farm Market!
What started as a small community gathering has grown into a warm, welcoming biweekly market where neighbours, local businesses, families, and visitors come together to shop local, connect, learn, and enjoy a wonderful evening in Canaan.

May 19th through October 20th
🕒 Biweekly | 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
📍 121 New Canaan Road
Highbury Gardens RV Park
Each market offers something special, including:
✨ Local vendors and handmade goods
🎶 Live music (most market nights)
🌭 Community BBQ
🎓 Educational demos and life-skill learning opportunities
🧶 Crochet Circle gatherings
🤝 Business connection board — leave your business card, tag a local business, and help support our local entrepreneurs
One of our favourite parts of the market is our community BBQ, with proceeds donated to a local nonprofit organization — because giving back is what community is all about.
This year, we’re especially excited to welcome new vendors and to support the next generation through our Young Entrepreneur spaces, with two young entrepreneurs joining us this season!
Our goal is simple: to create a space where people can gather, learn something new, support local, and enjoy an evening together.
Whether you’re stopping by to shop, enjoy the music, grab a BBQ, learn a new skill, or simply spend time with friends and neighbours — there’s a place for you here.

✨Thursday Social Media Promotions ✨

It’s that time again! If you'd like to be featured for our Thursday promo across our platforms as well as our newsletter all we need is three things:

1. A short write up that you'd like us to include. It could be a short summary of who you are what you do, it can be your own promo that you're offering, it could be just saying hello to our community!
2. Photos - Up to 3 photos that you'd like to include in the promo that show who you are or that shows off your business.
3. How you'd like people to reach out or contact you. This may be included in the first point but in case it isn't, we'd like to include a way to reach you and your business for those who may see the post!

This is a perk offered to members within VWBN! The post will be shared with the 1.2K Followers on Facebook and over 700 Followers on Instagram.

Thursday Promo will take place the third Thursday of every month. There may be multiple posts for multiple businesses in one day depending on how many people reach out per month. There will be a single call to action post earlier in the month asking for content with a deadline to make sure everything is in place for the day of.

Let's support each other the best we can! Being a woman in business isn't about competition but being supportive and recognizing each others accomplishments. Use this as an opportunity to network, reach out to each other, extend your reach, comment your support and more.

VWBN is proud to support “Uncensored Voices” by the Women of Wolfville.

Funds raised from this year’s performance will support three impactful charities:
1- the beloved Wolfville Memorial Library, ensuring it can continue serving the community during a time of financial pressure;
2 - Frugal Moms, who help individuals and families live well with less; and
3 - Dense Breasts Canada (DBC), champions of awareness and advocacy for better breast cancer screening in Nova Scotia.

Every contribution matters. No donation is too small, and all sponsors—unless they prefer to remain anonymous—will be acknowledged during the performances.
