!!Attention: Graduating high school students!!

Emil First, a beloved music teacher and co-founder of the Sudbury Youth Orchestra and Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, inspired countless young musicians with his passion for classical music. The Emil First Scholarship Bursary Fund, initiated in 2023, continues his legacy by supporting talented students on their musical journey.
Who can apply?
- Graduating high school students currently living in Greater Sudbury or the Manitoulin area.
- Must be attending a Post-Secondary Music Program as a major in September 2026.
- High school music marks of 75% or higher, with a letter of reference from your teacher.
- Private lesson students must be playing at a minimum Grade 4 Conservatory equivalency, with a letter of reference from their tutor.
**Application Deadline:** May 30, 2026
