Thank you to everyone who came out during Ghibli Weekend and helped make it such a special experience!! September continues to be packed with exciting events at the Indie!

🎬 This Friday at 6 PM, join Frames and Frequencies Artist Collective for their fundraiser night and help kick off the 2nd Abya Yala Latin American Film Festival, coming this October! The evening features a mysterious family-friendly movie screening, silent auction, and more surprises!

🥣 This Saturday, we’re bringing our classic All-You-Can-Eat Cereal Cartoon Party to the Thorneloe University campus for the very first time! Kick off the new school year with unlimited bowls of cereal and three hours of nostalgic retro cartoons, classic commercials, and PSAs!

🐱 Next Saturday, join us for a purr-fect afternoon featuring 80 minutes of fabulous felines while supporting local cats! 10% of ticket sales will go to Small Things CATS, and Greater Sudbury Animal Shelter will be joining us with some feline friends! If you want to see pictures of your furry friends on the big screen, please check the link in our bio for submission details!

🎥 Finally, we’re closing out the month with a $5-entry special screening for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, featuring AKI by Darlene Naponse and Two Old Women by Princess Daazhraii Johnson, with both directors joining us for a Q&A!

See you at the Indie! 🎞️

Wow! We have reached 25% of our goal! We are so thankful for our supporters! Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared. We appreciate the support. $10 000 helps us cover the rent and utilities for a year at our little shop. You're helping cats pay rent for 2026. Having a store front frees up space in the shelter. It lets cats have a place to roam while they wait for a home. We are run entirely by volunteers.
