The Blue Door Soup Kitchen offers hospitality as well as a hot and nourishing meal to anyone in need Meals are prepared daily.

The Blue Door Soup Kitchen was founded in 1982 by Kaireen and Roger Crichton in Sudbury, Ontario in response to major layoff at a local mine. This organization provides a free meal to 150 to 170 persons of all ages, each weekday. The Blue Door Soup Kitchen relies on three employees and many volunteers. Twice a week a warm meal is served: pasta, chicken, sausages, etc: the remaing days soup and sandwiches are available. Meals are accompanied by a dessert as well as tea, coffee and milk. Fresh fruit and salads are also served when available.

A massive thank you to Delta Bingo & Gaming for their incredible, ongoing support of the Blue Door Soup Kitchen!
Delta Bingo plays a vital role in keeping our doors open and our community fed. Thanks to the funds received through their charitable gaming sessions, we recently purchased a brand-new commercial gas stove!
This new equipment will serve our kitchen staff and dedicated volunteers well for years to come. Most importantly, it ensures we can continue providing warm, nutritious, and delicious meals for our guests every single day.
We are deeply thankful for this partnership and the positive impact it makes right here in Greater Sudbury.

Our incredible team of volunteers and staff put their whole hearts into preparing today’s Thanksgiving meal, and seeing our guests enjoy it right now means everything to us. Knowing that the warmth, care, and connection felt in the kitchen made its way to the tables fills our hearts with gratitude.

Today at the Blue Door our guests are enjoying a heart warming French onion soup made with lots of love ❤️ along side a chicken salad sandwich and apple turnover from Smith's Market for dessert! Thank you our local community donations, we are able to provide a healthy lunch.
