: The incident along Highway 43 between Range Road 45 and Range Road 41 has been resolved and regular travel can resume.

Alberta RCMP in are advising the public of a heavy police presence and road closure along Hwy 43 between Rge Rd 45 and Rge Rd 41. Police are responding to an incident and ask the public to avoid the area. The public is asked not to open their doors to strangers and to avoid picking up hitchhikers until the situation is resolved.

An update will be provided, once available.

Have you seen the blue sign at railway crossings? 🔵 Know what it's for before you need it.

If a vehicle becomes stuck on the tracks, a person is in danger, or you observe a problem that could affect rail traffic, look for the blue Emergency Notification System sign posted at the crossing.

The sign contains:
✅ A phone number to the railway company
✅ A crossing identification number that helps pinpoint your exact location

Providing this information can help railway personnel quickly identify the crossing and take action.

This Rail Safety Week, take a moment to locate the blue sign the next time you're at a railway crossing. Knowing where to find it could save a life.

UPDATE: The RCMP says Camden has been found safe.

Two-year-old Camden Whitehead has been reported missing from Grande Prairie. The RCMP says he is believed to be with his mother, Coralee Whitehead, in Grande Prairie or Peace River. He was last seen in pajama pants, a black jacket, grey runners, and a baseball hat.

: The stolen vehicle has been recovered, however, the suspects have not been located. RCMP Police Dog Services were tracking the suspects and do not believe they are still in the area.

RCMP in are advising residents of two suspects believed to have fled the scene of a collision in the area in a stolen vehicle. Residents are asked to secure their properties and not pick up any hitchhikers.

RCMP are currently on scene of the collision on Highway 43, near Range Road 23. The area will be closed while emergency crews respond and investigate.

Clairmont RCMP advises of collision and urges residents to report suspicious activity - Update



Clairmont, Alta. – On Sept. 4, 2026, around 8:30 a.m., Clairmont RCMP were called to a three-vehicle collision on Highway 43, near Range Road 23. Two individuals got out of one of the vehicles and fled on foot. The vehicle they were driving was discovered to have been stolen. Clairmont RCMP, assisted by Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services, began tracking the suspects. The suspects were not located and it is believed they may have been picked up after they fled. They are not believed to be in the area.



The stolen vehicle was recovered and only minor injuries were sustained as a result of the collision. The matter is still under investigation and the highway has since reopened for travel.

Clairmont RCMP advises of collision and urges residents to report suspicious activity

Clairmont, Alta. – Clairmont RCMP is currently on scene of a collision on Highway 43 Westbound, near Range Road 23. Highway 43 will be closed in the area while emergency crews respond and investigate. Furthermore, it is believed that two suspects fleeing a stolen vehicle may have been the cause of the collision. Residents in the area are urged to secure their properties, not pick up any hitchhikers and report any suspicious people.
