Reflecting on the downtown’s past and what we would like to see in the future, we sat down with three long standing businesses in downtown Grande Prairie. We talked to the owners at Infotech, who just celebrated 25 years in business, Snapshot Studio, celebrating 30 years this weekend, and the Grande Prairie Pet Shop, which will be closing after nearly 50 years in business! We were able to gain some insight into what makes the downtown core a good place to do business, and how to run a successful small business for decades.

So exciting to see the Clover Co's new space come together! Make sure to stop by for their Grand Re-Opening this weekend. 🍀

This Saturday is Sidewalk Saturday - the last of the summer! We decided to celebrate with our Grand Re-Opening at the same time. The first 10 customers will get a free dirty soda and all purchases will be entered to partake in the Grande Prairie DownTown Association draw for a $500 Downtown Gift Card!

This summer, we've launched a Graffiti Coverup Pilot Project to support downtown businesses in their vandalism and recovery efforts. Phase one is well underway, and several buildings have been painted over already.

Phase two will involve removing or covering more difficult graffiti - including second story tags or paint on brick and metal.

Check out some before and after photos of the work already done! And to any businesses interested in accessing this service at no cost, please reach out to the office as soon as possible.
