Cats Alive Gabriola

Cats Alive is a registered charitable organization, whose purpose is the welfare of cats on Gabriola We rely completely on donations for our work.

While we love and support all animals, our prime objective is to provide services that are of direct benefit to cats and their owners on Gabriola Island:

*spaying and neutering all cats that come into our care
* financially assisting low income owners to spay and neuter their cats and providing medical care as needed
* trapping feral, lost and abandoned cats with the aim of rehabilitation and re

-homing
* matching surrendered and homeless cats with caring humans
* fostering strays until suitable homes can be found
* feeding neglected cats. You can donate directly to our bank account using e-transfer to [email protected] or by selecting us from the list of groups at www.canadahelps.org. Tax receipts are available.

Meet Isla & Maeve. 💗💗
These two bonded tuxedo love bugs are looking for their forever home.
Although shy at first these girls are quick to warm up and bond to someone that will give them the love and care they so deserve.
They are both approximately 1 year old. Spayed & vaccinated. They are very healthy, playful and totally bonded to each other so they have to go together. Isla & Maeve are both quite petite and would require an indoor home preferably with a catio for fresh air enjoyment and protection. Clean and litter savy. Will be perfect life companions. Also seem good with other cats and even a gentle dog.

Cats Alive is seeking foster homes, and adopters, on Gabriola.

We currently have several near-to-year-old cats available for adoption. We anticipate having several cats coming into foster care in the near future, too.

Cats in foster care have all been spayed or neutered, have had a vet check-up and have received their shots.

Foster cats come from various situations -- some have been strays, some have been surrendered by people who are no longer able to care for them, and some just need a place to stay temporarily while their person is moving or for some other reason unavailable.

Foster cats need to be kept inside. Since we all want only the best for these kitties, a Cats Alive volunteer will come to your home to meet you and check out the cat accommodations.

Cats Alive is seeking cat-savvy adopters who have plenty of experience living lovingly with shy kitties. These four young gals are super-sweet, with lots of love to share, but they need very quiet, just-adult homes with no puppos, and guardians who **really** understand the subtleties, nuances, behavioural cues, needs, and complexities of our feline friends.

We know that last-minute ticket purchases are a well-loved island tradition, but really, don't wait too long. Only 45 are left for online purchase, and we'll have just 50 tickets available at the door. At the springtime Bingo, we were completely sold out at least 15 minutes before dabber time.

C'mon, all you sand-witches, sand-warlocks, and sand-don't-gimme-any-of-that-woowoo-nonsensers. Mark Saturday, 25 October on your calendars, and hit the Gabriola Island Community Hall for an afternoon of Bingo for a great cause. Doors open at 12pm, Bingo is from 1 to 4pm.
