What a great week! 🛠️ We had the pleasure of hosting the Indigenous Women of the Wabanaki Territories as part of the “Walking Together with Families Affected by Addiction” conference. With around 60 people in attendance, it was our biggest workshop yet!

Together, we made medicine boxes, shared some laughs, and had a wonderful time creating together.

A special thank you to Wade Wheaton from Skilled Trades NB for helping teach the workshop and guide everyone through the process. We truly appreciate your help!

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and can’t wait to host more workshops in the future!

JEDI would like to congratulate the IM&M summer cohort on their graduation on August 13th, 2026. This cohort focused on community service by volunteering at Greener Village and Hayes Farm several times. The students walked away with valuable lessons on farming, food production, and working as a team. IM&M followed this up with a Barbeque and team building exercise to promote these skills.

JEDI’s Trades Program visited the students and taught them about plumbing, carpentry, and culinary careers. The students had the opportunity to make medicine boxes, ladder ball games, and got to work in the kitchens alongside a chef preparing several dishes. Wabanaki in Motion also provided the students with 2 workshops where they made cinch bags and learned about 3D printing, crafting items from design to finish.

The student also worked on employment seeking skills such Resume building and cover letters, and experienced buying work-appropriate attire with the IM&M coordinators. Two guest speakers from the ECE program and trades program meet the students' interests and potential career paths. Congratulations to Nolan Paul, Sarah Nash, Justice Nash, Zach Paul, Laurissa Albright, Seqouia Perley and Lennox Paul.
